What is an EP Travel Card?
An EP Travel card is a prepaid Visa card. It’s a safe and cost-effective way to make international purchases and payments without having to carry cash.
Who is Everyday People Financial Inc.?
We are a Canadian card and card program manager with operations in Canada, United Kingdom and Europe. We originate, process, and manage unique and innovative credit products. Our cards are issued by DirectCash Bank (“DCBank”), a Schedule 1 Canadian Chartered Bank, however, all credit you access from your card is from Everyday People Financial; DCBank does not issue any credit or make any loans.
How long does it take to create an account?
The application and approval process is quick. Have your government issued identification ready and give us 5 minutes.
Why do I need to provide identification?
In compliance with Canadian financial regulations, we are required to confirm and validate our clients’ identification.

How long does it take a pre-authorization to clear?
Depending on the merchant, it could take 1-5 business days.
How do pre-authorized amounts affect my balance?
A pre-authorized amount reduces the balance of available funds until the merchant clears the transaction. For example, if you have a balance of $700 on your card and the merchant pre-authorizes $500, you will have $200 balance open for use until the pre-authorization clears. The pre-authorized amount needs to clear by the merchant first before you can load more to your EP Travel Card.
What is a pre-authorization?
An amount a merchant will put as a hold – it’s form of pre-payment or security.
When will my card arrive?
Your card and PIN will be given the day you apply in person at one of our partner agencies.
Is there a limit on my card?
The limit on your EP Travel card is outlined in the cardholder agreement.
Does the card have any fees or interest?

Can I withdraw money from my EP Travel Card?
You may withdraw money loaded onto your EP Travel card through any applicable ATM by using your card’s PIN number, once your card is activated.

How do I reload my card?
Come into any of partner travel agency locations and a representative can help you.
Can EP Travel Card be loaded with any currency?
Currently only available in Canadian currency (CAD). Exchange rates will apply if you transfer money from another currency onto the card.
